About The Department

   The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2008-2009 with the basic objective of providing a quality learning environment, in terms of inspiring teachers, state-of-the-art facilities, experience sharing and widening the knowledge, interacting with experts from academia and industry, facilitating the student in the process of growth in the information technology field. Right from its inception, the department has been offering well-built infrastructural facilities with different computer platforms for grooming professional students to meet the persistent demands of the IT Industries. To fulfill this objective, the software and hardware are updated regularly. The sanctioned intake per year is 60 students.

   The department of Information Technology has well equipped with modern laboratories having 250 HP Machines. There are two Servers (1-Linux server and 1-Windows Server) connected to 160 distributed nodes and 8 servers connected to 90 thin clients. The software for handling the laboratories are properly licensed and extensive laboratory facilities for 13 practical subjects including C, Unix, C++, Data Structures, Operating Systems, DMBS, System Software, Java Programming, Computer Networks, Web Technology, OOAD, Graphics, Service Oriented Architecture are available. Apart from these faculty members have expertise in areas like Wireless Networks, Databases, Data Mining, Soft Computing, Image Processing, Biometrics and so on.

   Students are encouraged to participate in various activities like paper presentation, technical quiz, web designing, robotics contests, software debugging, sports, NSS, YRC, and cultural activities. Students are motivated to undergo In-Plant Training every year and two Industrial Visits are arranged per year to get industry exposure.
